IRISH MARTY aka Marty Brandon has been a fixture at Irish and Celtic pubs, clubs and festivals for 25 years, and shows no sign of slowing down! Born in Albany, New York....and now living in Cortland.....Marty's Irish roots lie in County Sligo. Raised on Celtic legends like Tommy Makem, the Clancy Brothers, the Irish Rovers and the Wolfetones, he uses his guitar, bodhran and booming voice to bring the songs and stories of Ireland to life, from tender ballads to arse-kickin' Irish singalongs. Add a wicked sense of humor and seemingly endless energy, and you've got an Irish party waiting to happen! For more about Marty Brandon and his music, check out www.irishmarty.com .
PAMELA GODDARD grew up surrounded by folk music and has sung the old songs
of England, Scotland, and America most of her life. At an early age she was captivated by
the "Big Ballads" and humorous songs sung by such notables as Jean Redpath and Norman Kennedy. She's particularly fascinated by how versions of these songs traveled to North America. "Part of what catches my ear is a great story, a good tune, and I like the feeling that I'm carrying on a tradition," says Goddard, who sings stories of average people- the housewife, the farmer, and young people in love. Her passion is to let people hear these versions of the songs, to let them know these songs exist. "If the song has lasted over one hundred years," she says, "there's something really compelling about it."
